We encourage guests to bring their own life jackets properly fitted to their body, but we do provide an assortment of various sizes.
Yes, we provide two mountain bikes (Trek & Specialized) you are free to use on our residential street or area gravel roads. Guest should consider bringing their own bikes as we have excellent country dirt roads to ride around the lake, but also an extensive network of paved trails in Hastings, Michigan. Our beloved country dirt roads are famous for the annual Barry-Roubaix Killer Gravel Road Bike Race. Please check it out: www.barry-roubaix.com as we are happy to provide maps of the race courses (and maybe go on a ride with you or we can set you up with a local bike tour guide)

Yes, and a starter Smores kit with roasting sticks too!
It’s a sand bottom lake beach front but as many Michigan inland lakes you might encounter a random weed. Some people prefer to wear water sandals. You may see a small fish and the occasional turtle swimming in the water nearby.

No. As parents ourselves we know the importance of baby/toddler safety-proofing while on vacation and are unable to guarantee that level of child safety protection at this lake home.
In short, No. Turnarounds at our cottage are intense, as we have very high standards for cleanliness both inside and outside of the cottage. Simply put, a single night does not justify all the work involved. If you see a stray night on the calendar as hovering between two reservations, while technically open, it is not available to book.
We use a professional cleaning service which costs us $125 per stay. An entire disinfecting clean of the interior and exterior (kayaks, gas grill, patio furniture, game room) requires at least 4 hours of time regardless of the condition of the property upon check-out.
We request a written (email) notice if you need to cancel a reservation. You may cancel up to 60 days before check-in for a 100% refund of initial payment (minus $75 processing fee). You may cancel 30 days prior to scheduled stay for a 50% refund of initial payment (minus $75 processing fee). Cancellations of 29 days or less are ineligible for refunds. To protect yourself in the event of a cancellation that falls short of the 60-day full refund window, we suggest you purchase Cancel for Any Reason travel insurance for your stay.
